この空中結婚式は何回も繰り返されます。それは、女王蜂の貯精嚢が満タンになるまで続きます。１４～５回とも言われています。そのたびに猛スピードで追いついたエリートの雄バチは爆死。しかし、これは雄バチにとって幸せな一生なのです。何故なら、自分の子供が次代の蜂として生まれるからです。追いつけなかった雄バチたちは思いを遂げることもなくのけ者扱いを受けながら死んでいきます。
よくよく考えると、女王蜂は雄たちを競い合わせ、勝ち残った優秀なエリートの精子だけを受け入れています。つまり優性の法則にかなったやり方といえるのです（スッゴ～イ！！パチパチ）
ところで、私が関係するこまちパラグライダースクールでも年に一、二回空中結婚式が行われます。新郎と新婦が同時にそれぞれ飛びながら地上からの無線での問いかけに終生の愛を誓います。これは教習生や会員同士が仲良くなって結婚するのですが、素敵でしょ。仲間が見守るなか、天にものぼる・・・いや天空でのロマンチックな結婚式なのです。この３０年で４０組み以上にのぼります。そういえば先日４人目の赤ちゃん連れて来てたなあ(#^.^#) こまちパラ・・・で検索してみてください(#^.^#)
